Betty Jean McHugh, at 90, ran the Honolulu Marathon, breaking the
previous record set in the Women’s 90 age category by 2 full hours. Two
full hours. Now that is quite a feat, but apparently not for Betty.

She only started running in her 50s but has been setting record after
record ever since. Her times have been getting better--as in faster--as
she continues her running life. Not only that, but in her 80s, Betty
walked the 200-plus-kilometer Camino de Santiago from Porto, Portugal to
Santiago, Spain. Betty has no coach. She gets herself up and out of bed
to run every morning, whether she feels like it or not. She believes in
staying active, and it is obvious that she thoroughly enjoys--running.
