Although in-person visits will now be possible, the City still encourages the public to take advantage of the City’s on-line, phone, E-mail, and appointment options to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. A list of how to access various City services is available on the City’s COVID-19 information portal at www.moorparkca.gov/COVID19. City Manager Troy Brown noted “Even though City Hall will be open, we still encourage as many people as possible to do business with us over the phone and over the Internet. Doing so will help keep both the public and City staff as safe as possible.”
Appointments may be scheduled for any department or service normally available at City Hall, including permitting, planning, animal licensing, business registrations, code compliance, and purchasing a bus pass. All of these services will also be available without appointments between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
Visitors to City Hall must wear face coverings, but face coverings will be available for individuals who do not have one. Brown hopes that adding the appointment-only hours will enable the City to meet the needs of all types of customers. Said Brown: “Some people need in-person service because of immediate timelines, the need to pay with cash, or simply to get business done quickly and efficiently. We want City Hall’s doors to be open, but we also need people to feel safe walking through them.”
The Arroyo Vista Recreation Center offices (4550 Tierra Rejada Road) will also be open for both appointments and walk-in service beginning June 22, with business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. However, the public is still encouraged to sign up for Camp Moorpark (www.moorparkca.gov/Camp), themed camps, and summer classes/programs on-line (www.moorparkca.gov/Recreation) or by phone. Appointments and service by phone are available by calling (805) 517-6300. Reservations for park and facility rentals, such as sports courts and picnic pavilions, are not being taken at this time.
The Moorpark Active Adult Center will remain closed to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Moorpark City Library is also closed to the public, but does offer curbside pickup, with information available at www.moorparklibrary.org or (805) 517-6370.
City offices will be closed on Monday, July 6, in observance of the Independence Day holiday.
