Metrolink’s Railroad Tie Replacement Project Extended Through May 15

WHAT: Extension of Nighttime and Weekend Metrolink Railroad Maintenance Work

WHERE: Metrolink railroad tracks between Virginia Colony Place and Collins Drive in Moorpark

WHEN: May 1 - May 15, 2020

To keep train service safe and reliable, Metrolink crews will be performing extensive railroad tie replacement work in Moorpark between Virginia Colony Place and Collins Drive. This will conclude the initial work starting in March and originally scheduled to end April 18th.

• On weeknights, work begins at 8 p.m. and ends at 5 a.m. starting Monday, May 4 until Friday, May 15.
• Weekend nighttime work will occur Friday night, May 1 from 8 pm until Saturday, May 2 at 7 a.m.

During this work, Metrolink anticipates the following impacts:

• Noise from equipment backup alarms and heavy machinery
• Noise, vibrations and dust from construction machinery and activities
• Lights from light towers and/or on-track equipment

Please note all construction dates and times are subject to change without notice. There may be additional clean-up and preparation work before and after the project is completed.

Please know that we support efforts at the federal, state and local levels to stop the spread of the virus and keep our team members and riders safe, including asking people who are sick to stay home, requiring non-essential workers to telecommute, reiterating and requiring social distancing practices and providing our critical front-line employees with masks, gloves and extra sanitizer.
