New TRX Classes Beginning at Conejo Valley YMCA

TRX suspension exercise classes, inspired by Navy Seal training, are coming to the Conejo Valley YMCA in July.

TRX suspension exercise classes, inspired by Navy Seal training, are coming to the Conejo Valley YMCA in July.

“TRX training involves the use of cables that partially suspend your body, so gravity and body weight do a lot of the work,” says Zak Howell, who coordinates fitness programs at the Conejo Y. “Individuals control how much they want to challenge themselves by adjusting their body position to add or decrease resistance. TRX focuses on your body’s core, but every class is a total-body workout.”

Fifty-minute weekly classes will be held on Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. beginning July 14, Wednesdays at 9:00 a.m. beginning August 5 and Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. beginning July 16. The cost is $80 per month (free for full YMCA facility members). Classes are at the Conejo Y (4031 N. Moorpark Rd., Thousand Oaks). For more information, call the Conejo Y at 805-523-7613.
