Historic building gets new life (mpacorn.com) — A historic downtown Moorpark landmark at Moorpark Avenue and High Street is being transformed into Samuzora Japanese Spirits, a jazz-focused bar approved by the city Planning Commission. Owners plan to preserve the building's character, highlight its 120-year history, and offer a quieter, upscale spot that keeps residents spending and socializing in Moorpark's core.
   

2. Celebrating Home (mpacorn.com) — Moorpark's High Street just hosted the Country Days Parade, drawing hundreds of residents, local schools, nonprofits, and businesses to celebrate the theme "Our Community, Our Legacy." From Moorpark Little League grand marshals to Miss Moorpark royalty and local award winners, the event spotlighted the people and organizations shaping community pride and tradition.
   

3. Fall and farm fresh (mpacorn.com) — Families in Moorpark can dive into fall at Underwood Family Farms' Harvest Festival, featuring candy-filled pumpkin drops, hay-bale pyramids, tractor rides, and kid-friendly pumpkin picking. For a quieter outing, One Acre Farm in nearby Santa Rosa Valley offers a low-key pumpkin patch with locally grown gourds, cornstalks, and plans for future U-pick berries.
   

4. Firefighter seriously injured in Simi Valley DUI crash (thecamarilloacorn.com) — Moorpark-area CHP officers responded to a wrong-way DUI crash on the 118 near Tapo Canyon Road that led to a Ventura County firefighter being seriously injured when a separate vehicle drove into the investigation scene. Three drivers were arrested on suspicion of DUI, lanes were closed for hours, and investigators are asking any additional witnesses to contact the CHP office.
