Rec center improvements architect selected (mpacorn.com) — Moorpark's Arroyo Vista Recreation Center is set for a major facelift after the City Council approved a $54,560 design contract with Black O'Dowd and Associates. Plans include repairing worn interiors, upgrading safety features, adding a staff break room, and preparing the kitchen for future expansion, all within a $500,000 construction budget targeted for 2027.
   

2. Moorpark mounts comeback to beat Camarillo in dramatic finish (bluewaterhealthyliving.com) — Moorpark High's football team pulled off a stunning late comeback at home, erasing a nine-point deficit in the final minutes to beat Camarillo 40-36. Big plays from quarterback Dawson Armstrong, receiver Blake Davidson and running back Brody Tweety highlighted a game that showcased the Musketeers' resilience as they now prepare to visit Birmingham this Friday.
   

3. Lancaster man accused of Moorpark, Ventura County postal mail theft (vcstar.com) — Authorities say a Lancaster man is jailed on felony charges after investigators linked him to vandalized community mailboxes and stolen mail in Moorpark and other Ventura County areas. Deputies and postal inspectors recovered stolen mail during an August 21 search, and the suspect is being held on $50,000 bail ahead of a Ventura County court hearing.
   

4. Ventura County's best pizza eatery revealed (vcstar.com) — Ventura County readers have crowned Toppers Pizza Place the top pizza spot, beating out dozens of competitors from Oak View through Moorpark and beyond. While no specific Moorpark shop is highlighted, locals can still use the poll's results as a guide and even nominate their favorite sandwich place for next month's contest.
