Police Make No DUI Arrests at Moorpark Checkpoint
42 driving under the influence arrests have been made countywide as part of an Avoid the 14's 17-day holiday crackdown.

Officers working at a sobriety checkpoint in Moorpark Saturday night screened 1,230 vehicles and administered six field sobriety tests, but arrested no drivers for driving under the influence, according to a report issued by the Ventura County Sheriff's Department.
Law enforcement officials at the checkpoint, which was near Tierra Rejada Road and Miller Parkway wrote 30 citations for other violations, according to the report.
The checkpoint was part of an effort called Avoid the 14, named so because 14 various law enforcement organizations are involved. In the first weekend of its 17-day crackdown, the 39-county Avoid the 14 campaign had brought in 32 DUI suspects as of midnight Saturday, the report said.
