After almost a month of renovation work, the Conejo Valley YMCA’s indoor pools and aquatics center was rededicated August 18 with a ribbon cutting ceremony that honored the donors who made the $128,000 project possible.

The renovations included upgrading the pool’s plumbing and resurfacing the pool deck, the lap pool and warm water pool. Attendees at the ribbon cutting ceremony included Wyatt and Lisa McCrea, long-time supporters of the Y, former Conejo YMCA executive directors Steve Willmont and Rochelle Callis and Thousand Oaks Councilmember Al Adam.

Almost 100 seniors use the Conejo YMCA pools each day. The Y offers ongoing water fitness classes plus many people receive the benefit of exercising in the warm water therapy pool. In addition, the Y provides swim lessons year round for all ages and its swim team, the Conejo Sharks, practice at the center four days a week. The indoor pools are used all day, every day.
