Senator Pavley Names Ladyface Ale Co. of Agoura Hills Small Business of the Year

This week, Senator Fran Pavley (D-Agoura Hills) recognized Ladyface Ale Companie – Alehouse & Brasserie as the 27th Senate District’s Small Business of the Year in a ceremony in Sacramento.  Hosted by the California Small Business Association, this event honored 81 small businesses in legislative districts throughout California.

“California’s small businesses are the economic engine of our state,” said Betty Jo Toccoli, President of the California Small Business Association. “Ladyface Ale Companie was celebrated for their successful small business and contributions to their community.”

Ladyface Ale owners Cyrena and Jean-Luc Nouzille accepted the award from Senator Pavley. "It is such an honor to be recognized in the community by Senator Pavley who has such a long history of making our city a great place to live, work and play,” Cyrena Nouzille said. “I am also proud of the growth of our industry, especially on the local level, with the greater Los Angeles area emerging as a new craft beer culture.”

In her remarks, Senator Pavley noted the dynamic growth of the craft beer industry in California, which produces more craft beer than any other state and employs 45,000 Californians. “Ladyface Ale’s entrepreneurial spirit has nurtured the burgeoning craft beer industry and created a vibrant small business in my hometown of Agoura Hills,” Senator Pavley said.

Statewide, small businesses account for 75% of gross state product and more than half of private sector jobs. The small businesses honored at the June 16 luncheon were a diverse group of enterprises such as restaurants, recycling companies, veterinarians, retail stores and IT start-ups, and included five craft beer brewers in addition to Ladyface Ale Companie.
