Simi Fire Caused by Downed Power Line
The fire department put out the blaze in less than an hour

A downed power line that fell on a metal chain link fence started a fire in Simi Valley Sunday afternoon.
The Ventura County Fire Department responded to the fire at about 2:45 p.m. and had it out in less than an hour, though clean up was estimated to take about another hour, according to information on the department's website.
The fire was on the 1700 block of E. Los Angeles Ave. A nearby tree caught fire along with the area along the fence.
