A 'Grand Slam' First Impression for SF Giants Brandon Crawford

During his first Major League game, the Mountain View native helps Giants get the 'W.'

San Francisco Giants' rookie Brandon Crawford's final at-bat Friday is now one stat for the record books.

What could have ended as a loss to the Milwaukee Brewers–the Giants trailed 3 to 1 in the sixth inning–instead became a moment of Bay Area pride. Crawford, who was born in Mountain View and lists Pleasanton as his hometown, hit a grand slam to give the Giants the lead in the seventh inning Friday afternoon.

This week Crawford was called up to the majors from the minor leagues where he played with the Single-A San Jose Giants. The Giants won the game 5-4 over the Brewers to break a three-game losing streak on Friday.
