A New Look for Le Boulanger

A downtown shop got a makeover recently—and it looks as good as it smells!

Le Boulanger, a Castro Street staple, has been redesigned to increase space, efficiency and comforts.

"We are very excited with the new look," said Store Manager Julian Hawawini.

Hawawini, who's been with the Mountain View Le Boulanger for three years, but with the company for 20 years, explained that the pastry and sandwich shop closed on Monday, Mar. 12 for four days for the redesign part of a company-wide initiative.

In addition to the warmer ochre wall colors, beech wood cushioned furniture, they've enlarge their restrooms, changed their coffee options from Tully's to a Peets' kiosk and added a Coca-Cola company fountain machine that dispenses 120 different beverage options.

"It's more alive," Hawawini said.
