• Herbicide identified as likely culprit of mass tree die-off near Mountain View library (mv-voice.com) — Mountain View officials say an herbicide likely contributed to the decline of 33 large trees already removed around the public library and Pioneer Park, with another 150 trees showing similar deterioration across city parks and medians. The city has stopped using the chemical imazapyr, begun treating contaminated soil, and plans to replant native trees once tests show conditions are safe for new plantings.
