Are You Good to Go? covers what Bay Area Funeral Consumers Association does and doesn’t do, the body care options available in this state; cremation, burial or whole body donation; legal requirements; removal of the body; is embalming needed; using a mortuary; home funerals; costs both up front and hidden; prepaying or not; how BA-FCA helps you; the importance of making a decision while you are still alive; discussing your decision with your family and/or friends; advance directives and POLST forms; and new trends.

The presenter is Jennifer Harris, a retired science teacher who sits on the Board of BA-FCA. She is an experienced speaker who belonged to Toastmasters International for 28 years. She was the 1986 recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science Teaching for California. As a senior citizen herself she recognizes the importance of planning ahead for our end-of-life needs. She resides at the Sequoias Portola Valley, a senior retirement community.
