Bringing the Spotlight to South Bay Microbrews

2011 San Francisco Beer Week came to San Jose and gave the local breweries a chance to shine.

Wheat, barley and hops are the key ingredients in beer making. Add five hours of unlimited beer tasting for $25 and the best breweries in the South Bay, and you have a definite recipe for great fun.

For the second year Mountain View's , Sunnyvale's FireHouse and the Better Beer Blog hosted the Meet the Brewers Festival in the South Bay to bring attention to the local breweries.

Close to 500 people visited Tied House's San Jose distribution plant on Saturday and tasted brews from Campbell Brewing, Devils Canyon, Faultline, FireHouse, Gordon Biersch, Hermitage, Rabbits Foot Meadery, Rock Bottom and Santa Cruz Mountain Brewery, among others.
