Finally! Learn To Skype, FaceTime, Use Social Media And Work That Smartphone!

Tech training for older adults is coming up for residents of Mountain View, Los Altos, Palo Alto and Cupertino.

Older adults from Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Mountain View, Palo Alto, Cupertino and surrounding communities will gather at the Los Altos Library on Saturday, May 16 to learn how to improve their use of laptops, smartphones and other personal computing devices.

Hosted by the Palo Alto Medical Foundation’s linkAges TimeBank™, a neighborhood service-exchange network, and the Los Altos Library, the Tech Training Day for Older Adults will pair individuals with tech-savvy volunteers in one-on-one sessions. Connecting virtually with friends and family helps alleviate feelings of isolation in older adults, promoting overall well-being and good health.

Bullis Charter School and Egan Junior High School 7th and 8th graders will join local Stanford Alumni and linkAges Timebank members and staff to tutor older adults.

Walk-ins are welcome, although those with reservations will be given priority. Please bring your charged devices (computer, smartphone, tablet, etc.). Wi-Fi and laptops will be available.
