Kiwanis Club of Mountain View Accepting Grant Applications

Mountain View Kiwanis Offers Grants to Local Non-Profits

KIWANIS CLUB OF MOUNTAIN VIEW

The Kiwanis Club of Mountain View Foundation is accepting grant requests. Last year, The Kiwanis Club of Mountain View presented grant awards to 31 local nonprofit organizations. The Mountain View Kiwanis have awarded over $1 million in grant requests in the last ten years.

Grant requests must meet a critical health or human care need in the city of Mountain View.
Grant requests should address the needs of children under the age of 18 or seniors over age 60, and must have objectives that are time-specific and measurable. Organizations must submit an annual report of how the grant money was spent.

Organizations submitting grants must have a 501(c)(3) status or government agency equivalent. Proof of 501(c)(3) with a copy of Federal Tax-exempt Notification Letter is required when submitting a grant request.

The Kiwanis Club of Mountain View may help fund capital campaign projects that are consistent with Club priority to provide services to low-income children, adolescents or seniors.

Grant applications are accepted from October 1st through December 1st each year. The deadline for submission is December 1st of each year, and applications must have proper postage to be considered. Grant applications received that are postmarked after December 1st, or delayed beyond the December 1st deadline due to improper postage, will not be considered.

Grant application requests should be mailed to the Kiwanis Club of Mountain View, P.O. Box 607, Mountain View, CA 94042.

The award selection process is difficult because most of the programs address a valuable service to those genuinely in need of assistance, and offer a laudable approach to providing such worthwhile service. The Foundation Grants Committee reviews all applications in accordance with the guidelines and focuses on services to the Kiwanis target group of children, adolescents, and seniors with the emphasis on benefiting the greatest number in the local community given Club resources.

Grant awards are generally presented during a luncheon in February.
