OOPS! Peninsula 'Backyard Prowler' Was Contractor At Wrong House
Police released photos of a man who appeared to be casing a house while the owners were out.
A man suspected of trespassing into the backyard of a home in Los Altos last week turned out to be a contractor at the wrong home, police said today.
Police on Monday had released photos of the man in the backyard of an empty home in the 200 block of Delphi Circle last Thursday.
The man had entered the backyard through an unlocked side gate and footage from the home’s surveillance system showed him peer into the home, but he did not attempt to enter the residence and left, police said.

The man saw his picture on social media and contacted police around 6 p.m. Monday to explain he was a general contractor who had been assigned to work at the home next door, according to police. It was his first time on the job and he accidentally went to the wrong house, police said.
