Palo Alto Police Arrest Accused Killer

PALO ALTO, CA — Police in Palo Alto on Thursday arrested a woman in connection with the July stabbing death of her 65-year-old sister-in-law.

Jingyan Jin, 41, of Palo Alto, was arrested on suspicion of homicide.

On July 7 at 7:42 p.m., officers with the Palo Alto Police Department responded to a call reporting suspicious circumstances at a residence in the 300 block of Creekside Drive and located 65-year-old resident Jenny Shi deceased inside, police said.

Investigators located evidence at the scene linking Jin to the homicide, police said.

Jin was taken into custody at her home Thursday morning without incident. Police said the investigation into the homicide is still ongoing.
