Police Investigate Suspicious Death In Palo Alto

Portion of Creekside Drive may be closed into the afternoon.

PALO ALTO, CA -- Police in Palo Alto are investigating a suspicious death that occurred Thursday at a residence on Creekside Drive.

Officers with the Palo Alto Police Department responded Thursday at 7:42 p.m. to a report of suspicious circumstances at a residence in the 300 block of Creekside Drive and located an adult deceased inside the home, police said.

Police said the person who reported the incident was a family member of the deceased who had gone to the home to locate the person. The family member discovered the body inside the residence.

Initial evidence at the scene indicates the death is suspicious in nature, police said.

The manner of death is not known at this time, police said. Detectives will be seeking a search warrant to conduct a full search of the residence.

The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner will be called to the scene to investigate the death. Police are not releasing any information on the victim at this time.

There is no suspect information available at this time, and there was not an active search conducted for a suspect in the neighborhood, according to police.

Investigators have closed off a portion of the 300 block of Creekside Drive while the crime scene is processed, and the road could remain closed into the afternoon hours as the investigation continues, police said.
