Suspected Restaurant Burglar Arrested On Mtn. View Warrant

The East Palo Alto man is connected to a seven-month spree of break-ins in Mountain View, police said.

Alfred Banks, a 60 year-old East Palo Alto resident, was arrested by Menlo Park police on Feb. 10 for outstanding warrants stemming from a Mountain View Police Department investigation into several commercial burglaries, police said.

From late May to mid-December, several restaurants throughout Mountain View were burglarized, and in each instance, a heavy object was used to smash the front window or glass door and contents of the cash register or, in some cases the entire cash register, was taken, said the Mountain View Police Department.

Through surveillance video and persistent investigation by MVPD detectives used surveillance videos to identify Banks as a suspect, and a warrant was issued for his arrest on Jan. 7, police said.
