MURRIETA, CA — Motorists were advised to avoid Interstate 215 in Murrieta following a two-vehicle traffic crash Wednesday.
The incident was reported just after 11:30 a.m. on the northbound side of the freeway, north of Clinton Keith Road near Loma Linda University Medical Center-Murrieta, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Mike Lassig.

The crash involved a Honda Accord and a Dodge Ram 1500 truck towing a Yamaha boat on a trailer. The vehicles collided for reasons that are still under investigation, Lassig said.
The Honda driver was found with major injuries lying in the freeway's #2 lane. The victim was transported to Wildomar's Inland Valley Medical Center, according to Lassig.

The Ram's two occupants were sent to a local hospital with minor injuries, Lassig said.
Lanes were closed and first responders called for a complete shutdown of the northbound side of I-215.
As of 1:15 p.m., all freeway lanes were open except the northbound #3 lane, according to Lassig.
"Traffic on both sides of the freeway is very heavy," Lassig warned.
The crash remains under investigation by the CHP.
