Teen Ejected In Murrieta I-215 Crash Was Speeding: CHP Details
The crash that jammed Wednesday traffic was allegedly caused by the 18-year-old driver.

MURRIETA, CA — The California Highway Patrol released details Thursday about a two-vehicle crash on northbound Interstate 215 in Murrieta this week that left a teen driver seriously injured after he was ejected from his car.
The teen was speeding and was not wearing his seatbelt, the CHP determined in a preliminary report.
The crash was reported just after 11:30 a.m. Wednesday north of Clinton Keith Road near Loma Linda University Medical Center-Murrieta, according to CHP Officer Mike Lassig.

Conner Campos, 18, of Menifee was driving north in the freeway's #1 lane at approximately 90 mph in a 2003 Honda Accord when he "made an unsafe turning moving to the right," causing his car to veer across traffic lanes, according to the CHP preliminary report released by Lassig.
Campos smashed into a freeway guardrail and into a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 truck that was towing a boat on a trailer. The truck and trailer were in the northbound #3 lane traveling approximately 55 mph, according to the report.

The crash impact caused the vehicles to spin out of control across northbound freeway lanes. Campos was ejected from his driver's side window and landed in the freeway's #2 lane. He suffered major injuries, according to the report.
The teen was sent to Wildomar's Inland Valley Medical Center; an update on his condition was not provided.
Three men inside the Dodge — two from Aguanga and one from Murrieta — were wearing seatbelts and suffered minor injuries in the crash. They were sent to Loma Linda University Medical Center-Murrieta, according to the CHP.
Northbound I-215 traffic lanes were closed during the crash investigation and cleanup.
The CHP investigation is continuing, according to the agency.
"The CHP would like to remind the motoring public to always wear your seatbelt," the agency said in a released statement. "Seat belts save lives and can prevent injuries."
