3-Story-Tall Self-Storage Building Proposed For Murrieta
The 135,971-square-foot self-storage building is proposed for 3 acres near the intersection of Murrieta Hot Springs and Winchester roads.

MURRIETA, CA — A three-story-tall, 135,971-square-foot self-storage building proposed near the corner of Murrieta Hot Springs and Winchester roads has moved closer to breaking ground.
On Tuesday, the Murrieta City Council voted 5-0 to change the zoning at the 3.04-acre project site at the southeast corner of Date and Delhaven streets, near the intersection of Murrieta Hot Springs and Winchester roads, to allow the project to move forward.
With the unanimous decision, the city also signed off on environmental findings and approved a conditional use permit for the project.

The self-storage building is proposed to be completely enclosed, with indoor storage units, hallways, stairways, restroom, elevators and an office. Underground stormwater storage and water quality facilities will also be installed. The building height will not exceed 37 feet from its first floor to its highest roof peak, according to city documents.
A new shared 56-foot-wide driveway with a center median will be built to connect the building to the intersection of Date and Delhaven streets. Future residents who will live at an adjacent apartment development that is currently under construction near the site will also be able to use the driveway for access to and from their homes.

Another 28-foot-wide driveway along the eastern and southwestern sides of the building will allow for emergency vehicle access and will include a fire department circular turnaround, according to city documents.
The project applicant is Temecula-based Steve Galvez of MHS 98 LLC.
