Clear Night For July 4; Temperatures to Spike By Weekend

Highs will tick up into the 90s in inland areas on Thursday, and then on Friday, temperatures will spike.

RIVERSIDE, CA -- Moderately warm temperatures during Fourth of July will be followed up with a legitimate heat wave this week in western Riverside County, while the Coachella Valley will remain toasty.

High temperatures will be in the 80s in the Inland Empire for most of the week, and it will already be hot in the deserts, which is facing temperatures in the 100s, according to the National Weather Service.

The skies will be clear throughout the region for most of Wednesday evening, according to forecasters, creating good conditions for Independence Day fireworks shows.

Highs will tick up into the 90s in inland areas on Thursday, and then on Friday, temperatures will spike, the NWS said. Daytime highs on Friday and Saturday will be in the mid-100s in the Riverside area and the Temecula Valley.

The Coachella Valley was expected to see temperatures up to 116 degrees on Friday, cooling slightly to 113 on Saturday.
