Coroner IDs Woman Killed In I-215 Double Motorcycle Crash Early Easter

A 61-year-old San Diego woman riding a Can-Am Spyder died in a collision at the southbound I-215 and State Route 74 exit early Sunday.

PERRIS, CA – A San Diego woman was killed early Sunday morning as she entered I-215 southbound in a Can-Am Spyder three-wheeler motorcycle, California Highway Patrol Officer Brian Seel reported.

Riverside County Sheriff'S Department Coroner's Bureau identified Robyn Gonzalez, a San Diego resident, as the crash victim.

Shortly before 1 a.m., Gonzalez was riding her 2019 Can-Am Spyder westbound on SR-74 to the southbound I-215 alongside another rider, a 57-year-0ld man from Spring Valley, on a 2014 Victory Cross Country motorcycle.

"For reasons still under investigation, both riders failed to negotiate the curve in the roadway. As a result, they both traveled off the left side of the roadway, and both riders were ejected from their respective vehicles," Seel said.

Cal Fire and CHP both responded to the scene of the crash, where the woman was found to be deceased.

"The 57-year-old male was transported to the hospital with apparent minor injuries," Seel said. No other information was immediately available.
