Coroner IDs Victim Of Fatal Ramona Expressway Crash

A Riverside County woman died as a result of a two-car crash on Tuesday at the Ramona Expressway and Warren Road.

HEMET, CA — A collision on the Ramona Expressway at Warren Road on Tuesday claimed the life of a Hemet woman, officials say.

Latrenda Mitchell, 58, was pronounced dead at the hospital following the crash, the Riverside County Sheriff's Coroner's Bureau reported.

Just after 10 a.m., Cal Fire/Riverside County Firefighters and deputies from the San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station responded to the area of Warren Road and Ramona Expressway, San Jacinto, on reports of a traffic collision.

"Upon arrival, deputies located a two-vehicle traffic collision, with one driver unresponsive," Sgt. Patrick Lynch said.

Firefighters extricated one driver, later identified as Mitchell, who was in critical condition at that time. She was rushed to a local hospital and later pronounced deceased, according to Lynch. The other driver remained at the scene and was uninjured.

The San Jacinto Traffic Team responded and assumed the investigation.

"Neither alcohol nor/and/or drugs appears to be a factor in the collision, and no arrests have been made," Lynch said.

The investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing, and no further information is available at this time.
