Gas Leak Across From Vista Murrieta HS: 'No Danger To Students'
Monday afternoon officials were working to fix the leak across from Vista Murrieta High School.

MURRIETA, CA — A gas leak in the new construction area along Clinton Keith Road, across from Vista Murrieta High School, prompted officials to ask motorists to avoid the main traffic artery Monday afternoon.
"The Murrieta Police Department, Murrieta Fire & Rescue and Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas) are currently working on a gas leak in the new construction area north of Clinton Keith across from Vista Murrieta High School," the Murrieta Police Department said via social media around 2:30 p.m.
"There is currently no danger to the students or the school," the agency said.

Motorists were asked to avoid Clinton Keith Road to help with traffic control. Alternate routes include Linnel Road with access off McElwain and Whitewood roads, according to police.
There was no word on what caused the leak or when it might be fixed.
