WINCHESTER, CA — Two people were killed Friday morning in a two-vehicle, head-on crash in the unincorporated Winchester area of Riverside County near Hemet.
The crash occurred on Winchester Road, north of Scott Road, about 1:05 a.m., according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Firefighters confirmed two victims died at the scene, the department said.

The crash prompted the closure of the northbound lanes of Winchester Road at Scott Road. The southbound lanes of Winchester Road remained open, according to the California Highway Patrol.
