The brothers were arrested in early August following a Riverside County sheriff's investigation.

According to sheriff's Sgt. Chris Gaskins, shortly after midnight on July 30, the convicted felons and two teenage boys, whose names were not released, allegedly confronted two custodians making repairs at Margarita Community Park.

The defendants demanded that the maintenance men hand over their cash and other valuables and became physical when the victims didn't immediately comply, Gaskins said.

The victims ultimately surrendered their personal belongings, and the brothers, along with their juvenile accomplices, fled the park, the sergeant said.

Deputies arrived a few minutes later but were unable to locate the perpetrators.

Gaskins said that evidence collected afterward led to the teens being arrested on Aug. 5. Their case is being handled in juvenile court.

The Noble brothers were located at their apartment on Rosalia Avenue the following day and were taken into custody without incident.

According to court records, Derek Noble has prior convictions for assault with a deadly weapon and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. His older brother has prior convictions for burglary, shoplifting and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
