Menifee Man Wanted In Killing

MENIFEE, CA — An arrest warrant has been issued for a Menifee resident who is wanted in connection with the killing of 60-year-old man who died from a head injury over the weekend.

Richard Adam Lopez, 32, is suspected in the killing death of Menifee resident Jose Gonzalez.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, on May 20 around 8:28 p.m. deputies were called to the 27000 block of E. state Route 74 in Menifee regarding a man suffering from a head injury.

The victim, later identified as Gonzalez, was transported to a local hospital where he remained in intensive care until his death Sunday.

Sheriff's investigators say that Lopez is responsible for Gonzalez's injury and ultimate death.

"An arrest warrant for murder has been issued," the department said.

Anyone who spots Lopez or knows of his whereabouts is asked to call 911.
