Murrieta Church Hosting Services for SCE Employee Who Died in Menifee Accident

Viewing, visitation and funeral services for Jose "Raul" Ros will take place Wednesday and Thursday at St. Martha Catholic Church, 37200 Whitewood Road, according to SCE's Twitter page.

Services for a Southern California Edison lineman who died April 25 in an on-the-job accident will be held in Murrieta this week.

The services will be private, for friends and family and co-workers, according to SCE.

“His family has requested all craft personnel who wish to attend wear their brown work shirts to honor Raul,” SCE stated in the Twitter message.

The fatal accident occured just before 7:45 a.m. April 25 near the Newcomb substation in Menifee; three of Ros’ co-workers were also injured. The incident remains under investigation, according to a news release previously issued by SCE.

Ros, who worked as a distribution lineman, is survived by his wife and two young daughters. The Winchester resident was an employee at the company for 11 years.

Edison International, SCE’s parent company, donated $25,000 to start a memorial fund for his family.

“We are extremely saddened by this tragedy and extend our condolences to Raul’s family,” stated SCE President Ron Litzinger. “Members of the Edison family have expressed their desire to support Raul’s family, and with the establishment of the fund, we will be able to help them during this extremely difficult time.”
