NWS Issues Fire Watch For Murrieta This Weekend: Windy And Dry

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — Western Riverside County, including Murrieta, will be under a fire watch this weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

The watch will be underway Sunday, from 9 a.m. through 7 p.m., the NWS announced on Friday.

Wind gusts that could reach up to 65 mph are forecast in the San Gorgonio Pass Area and the Santa Ana Mountains that abut Southwest Riverside County to the west. Additionally, low humidity of 5 to 10 percent is forecast across the region on Sunday.

Daytime high temperatures in Southwest Riverside County will be in the mid-70s to low 80s over the weekend, with overnight lows in the low 50s, according to forecasters.
