PHOTOS: Healthcare Workers Honored In Murrieta During Flyover

Two jets from March Air Reserve Base made their way over Loma Linda Medical Center Murrieta as part of Thursday's 19-hospital salute.

SOUTHWEST RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — More than 100 people and about three dozen healthcare workers gathered Thursday afternoon at and near Loma Linda Medical Center Murrieta — with social distancing in mind — to watch two aircraft do a flyover salute.

The two jets from March Air Reserve Base were part of a nationwide effort that started last month to recognize frontline healthcare workers.

The first aircraft, a C-17 Globemaster III cargo jet flew over the hospital just after 1 p.m. as the crowd cheered and waved. About 2 minutes later, a KC-135 Stratotanker aerial refueling jet flew by to the same reaction.
