Police Investigation Closes Alta Murrieta Drive

MURRIETA, CA — A Murrieta police investigation that began around 1 a.m. Tuesday continued into the afternoon.

Alta Murrieta Drive remained closed between Rockcrest Drive and the northernmost entrance to the Murrieta Town Center shopping complex until approximately 1:10 p.m.

Murrieta police had asked the public to avoid the area that is directly in front of Alta Murrieta Sports Park.

Several police vehicles were at the location, and at least one detective was collecting evidence.

A pair of white Nike shoes on the ground behind a red Chevrolet pickup were within the area taped off by police, but it's unclear whether the vehicle and shoes were related to the incident.

Paramedics responded to the area at approximately 1:20 a.m. for a medical service call, but further details were unavailable.

There was no indication by police that the public was in any immediate danger.
