No Public Threat After Murrieta PD Investigation On Los Alamos
Los Alamos was closed between Madison and Jefferson avenues during the investigation Friday afternoon following a call about an "armed" man.

MURRIETA, CA — A report of a possible shooter Friday afternoon in Murrieta was unfounded, police confirmed.

Murrieta police responded to the scene and closed Los Alamos, between Madison and Jefferson avenues, as part of the investigation.

"Please avoid the area," the department said shortly after 1 p.m. on social media.
During the investigation, Murrieta police determined the man had been spotted with a toy replica firearm, "like an airsoft gun," Gomez explained. A search of the man's apartment and the area determined there were no real weapons and the public was not at risk. The man was not arrested.
