Suspect ID'd After Woman Found Dead At Murrieta City Hall
The 25-year-old Claremont man was arrested and being held on $2 million bail.

MURRIETA, CA — A woman pronounced dead after she was found inside a parked vehicle outside of Murrieta City Hall was attacked in Claremont and a 25-year-old man was arrested in the case, authorities said Saturday.
The woman was found Friday inside a white Hyundai Elantra in the parking lot of Murrieta City Hall at 1 Town Square, next to the Murrieta Police Department. The grim discovery was made by Murrieta authorities after a 911 call was received at 10:35 a.m., according to Murrieta police Lt. Jeremy Durrant.
The victim was suffering from a traumatic injury and was pronounced dead at the scene, Durrant said. Her name was not released.

A man, later identified as Claremont resident Jeffrey Alexander Calzada, was detained at the scene, according to the Claremont Police Department.
Claremont police were involved after it was determined the victim's fatal injury was sustained in their city, according to the agency.

After questioning, Calzada was booked into custody at 7:20 p.m. Friday by Claremont police, Los Angeles County jail records show.
Booking charges on Calzada were unavailable but he was being held in lieu of $2 million bail and is due to appear Tuesday at Pomona Superior Court, jail records show.
Calzada's relationship to the victim, if any, was not provided, and it's unclear if he was the 911 caller.
A motive for the killing was not provided, and police did not disclose details of the woman's injury.
Why Calzada and the victim ended up at Murrieta City Hall was not clear.
