Valley Fire Sends Smoke Across Southwest Riverside County
The fire is burning in East County San Diego, near Alpine.
SOUTHWEST RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — Smoke visible across Southwest Riverside County Saturday is coming from a fast spreading vegetation fire burning near Alpine, in San Diego County.
There is no immediate threat from the brusher in Riverside County, but as of 7 p.m. the blaze — dubbed the Valley Fire — had burned 1,500 acres and forced evacuations in East County San Diego.
The blaze was burning off Spirit Trail and Japatul Road in the Japatul Valley area.
