Watch as Murrieta Firefighters Climb Dozens of Stories in Full Gear for Charity
Head on out to the Albertsons on Cal Oaks to watch local firefighters "climb for a cure."

The following announcement was submitted for publication on behalf of the Murrieta Fire Department:
On Saturday Feb. 21, from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., two of Murrieta Firefighters will be “climbing for a cure” on a stair climber machine in front of Albertsons Grocery Store on Cal Oaks in Murrieta.
This is a charity lead up event for the Scott Firefighter Stair Climb in Seattle, Washington which raises money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Last year Firefighter’s Brandon Roach and Andy Stang participated in the climbing of the Columbia Center nearly 70 stories tall with 1,800 firefighters from around the country, raising nearly $2 million for blood cancer research.
All participants will be in full firefighting gear weighing in excess of 35 pounds while they make the trek up the second tallest building west of the Mississippi.

Saturday’s event will showcase how these determined firefighters will prepare for the upcoming event in March.
The firefighters of Murrieta not only respond to those who suffer from many illnesses and diseases, but they also feel compelled to assist in their own way to find a cure.
