Woman Killed In Murrieta Area Fire: Coroner's Office
Firefighters rushed into her burning home on Sunday and pulled her out of the structure. Sadly, she did not survive.
RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — A woman who was pulled from a burning Temecula Valley home over the weekend did not survive, officials report. After being rushed to the hospital, she died from her injuries a short time later.
The woman has since been identified as Rama Iaco of Murrieta. She was 58.
Iaco's home, located in the unincorporated area of Riverside County between Murrieta and Temecula, went up in flames around 1:14 p.m. Sunday, according to fire reports. More than two dozen firefighters responded to the scene and quickly rushed into the flames upon learning that someone may be inside.
"Upon entering the structure, firefighters located an adult victim," the Riverside County Fire Department reported. "The victim was transported to an area hospital by ground ambulance in serious condition."
The woman was unconscious when she was pulled outside, according to witnesses.
Coroner's officials say Iaco died at 2:12 p.m. at Rancho Springs Medical Center.
The fire was contained by 2:30 p.m. to the house "which sustained major damage including a partial roof collapse," according to the fire department. No other injuries were reported.
