13th Annual Bastille Day at Bouchon

Now in it’s 13th year, Bouchon’s Annual Bastille Day celebration is the place for Napa Valley and Bay Area residents and visitors alike to honor the French holiday and indulge in traditional French fare and fun.  Bouchon will host Bastille Day festivities for the whole family on Sunday, July 14, from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at 6534 Washington Street, Yountville, Calif.  A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Yountville Elementary School.

“Bastille Day has been a long-standing tradition for Bouchon in Yountville and one that we are proud to share with the local Yountville community and its visitors,” said Thomas Keller, Chef/Owner, Thomas Keller Restaurant Group. “This year we have expanded the celebration across all our Bouchon properties to include Bouchon Beverly Hills and Bouchon at The Venetian in Las Vegas. After all, it’s all about creating memories.”

Back by popular demand are Chef de Cuisine Michael Sandoval’s Caja-China whole roasted pig and lamb, whole roasted Alaskan halibut, Merguez sausages, tarte flambé, and crépe station.  An outdoor oyster bar will feature East Coast and West Coast oysters, as well as shrimp cocktail.  Favored snacks including truffle popcorn and pommes frites will also be available.

For the sweet tooth, Pastry Chef Janine Weismann will prepare crème brûlée cups, mint chip ice cream sandwiches, miniature cakes and macarons, warm beignets and the bistro’s signature chocolate bouchons.

The Dunk Tank, featuring Chef Thomas Keller and other local personalities, returns this year to benefit the Yountville Elementary School.  Children can enjoy the balloon artist and face painter, while the whole family can be entertained with the photo booth and French props.  Live music will be performed by Cortableu and the Zydeco Flames beginning at 1:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., respectively.

Guests may purchase Bastille Day tickets in advance online at www.store.tkrg.com.  Tickets are good for food, French wines, panaché, beer and non-alcoholic beverages.

Bouchon Bistro and Bouchon Bakery will observe their regular business hours on Sunday, July 14.  For reservations or to inquire about Bastille Day, please call (707) 944-8037.
