1st Annual LEGENDS HOOPS Competitive Middle School Boys Winter Basketball League announced!

Legends Hoops is a local non-profit youth basketball development organization and they provided the first ever Summer League for middle school boys in the Napa Valley this year. The Legends Hoops Summer League was a success with parents and players, with all players showing improvement in game skills, confidence and teamwork. All of the Saturday games were local with several skills balanced teams that were Coached by experienced Coaches as supported by the Napa Valley Men’ s Basketball program.

After Legends Hoops Coaches and Trainers finish the current Fall Individual Skill Clinics that run from October to Nov 9 and Team Training sessions, the Winter Middle School Competitive League for boys will start Nov 2 and go until January 16, 2016. There will be 24 one and a half hour (1.5)Team Practices and 14 games, with 2 games played every Saturday at Napa Valley College. All games are High School rules based and refereed by professional referees . The League uses the same game rules to help players understand the high school game so this is not a recreation League and not intended for those players who have no prior team basketball experience. Players with ACE or CYO and CSL League experience are encouraged to join to boost their player development progress. This competitive League format provides 50 hours of high quality basketball and optimum player development for those players wanting to play for their High School. Practices will focus on fundamentals and all teams will be taught according to a single standard curriculum so that all teams are equally capable.

All of the Legends Hoops Coaches are experienced competitive league Coaches whom have been background screened and are successful Coaches and College level players, selected from the most successful candidates. All practices will include proper warm up, injury prevention and basketball specific conditioning by College Coaches and Trainers.

Player Assessments are used to ensure each team is formed on the basis of skills balance of all teams in the League.

Mandatory Player Assessments are on Saturdays, Oct 3rd, 19th, 17th and 24th from 4 to 5pm at Grace Church gym at 3765 Solano Avenue, Napa and also on Nov 2 and Nov 4 at 6pm at Rwdwood Middle School new gym. Players parents must RSVP to identify which Player Assessment date their player will attend, by completing the RSVP section of the Winter league website page in advance of the date selected: http://www.napavalleybasketballdevelopment.org/winter-boys-competitive-league.html

Players will receive a high quality dri-fit reversible Legends Hoops uniform of jersey and shorts, with adult sizes for $80 and youth sizes for $75. Final Player Team fees are determined only after all teams are formed following the last Player Assessment date, so that all non-profit operating costs are spread across each team equally. Sponsorship is available upon request for financial hardship.

Parents and players are welcome to watch any and all Player Assessment date sessions. Players are insured through AAU_Amateur Athletic Union for $ 16 on-line via credit card only for AB Type Extended Coverage. All players must have a current AAU youth athlete membership #.
