8+ Years Behind Bars For Napa Man Who Brutally Assaulted Woman

The victim was choked until unconscious, then dragged from car and beaten. Intervening citizens were threatened by the man. [Breaking]

NAPA COUNTY, CA – A Napa man was sentenced to more than eight years in prison Tuesday for a domestic violence assault on a woman in Napa, Napa County District Attorney Gary Lieberstein said Wednesday.

Fidel Bueno, 27, was convicted in July of four felony strike charges including felony domestic violence inflicting great bodily injury and criminal threats in connection with the strangling of a woman in a vehicle on
May 6, Lieberstein said.

Bueno strangled the woman to the point of unconsciousness, pulled his vehicle into a parking lot, dragged the woman out of the car and continued to assault her, Lieberstein said.

Bueno also threatened to kill witnesses when they tried to intervene and he fled the scene, Lieberstein said.

The victim suffered injuries to her face and torso and was treated and released from the Queen of the Valley Medical Center, Napa police said.

Bueno was arrested in Hollister on May 8 with the assistance of the California Highway Patrol and the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office. He was booked in the Santa Clara County Jail on numerous charges including
attempted murder, battery with great bodily injury and robbery.

Napa County Superior Court Judge Elia Ortiz sentenced Bueno to eight years and eight months in prison.
