American Canyon House Fire Prompts Evacuations
Homes on both sides were evacuated as a precautionary measure but no injuries were reported, authorities said.

AMERICAN CANYON, CA — A fire Wednesday at an American Canyon house prompted evacuations and road closures but no injuries were reported, authorities said.
The fire broke out around 10:15 a.m. at a single-level home in the 100 block of Kimberly Drive, just west of state Highway 29.
American Canyon Fire Protection District crews were on scene within 4 minutes and found heavy smoke and flames coming from the home, ACFPD Spokesperson Laura Provencher said.

"The residence was cleared and no one was located inside," Provencher said. "No injuries were sustained."
The American Canyon Police Department evacuated both neighboring homes as a precautionary measure.

Firefighters from Napa County Fire Department, Vallejo Fire Department and Napa City Fire Department provided mutual aid.
The American Red Cross and American Medical Response also assisted at the scene, and American Canyon CERT helped with traffic control.
"The cause of the fire is still under investigation," Provencher said.
