2. Napa Barricade Standoff: Gun Threat Escalates Arrest Into Barricade (patch.com) — Napa readers should know police resolved a tense barricade situation at a Silverado Trail home, where a man allegedly blocked officers, claimed to have a gun, and kept a restrained woman from leaving. Officers ultimately entered the Napa residence, removed the woman to safety, used a police K9 to subdue the suspect, and later found a replica firearm and suspected drug paraphernalia.
3. Copper thefts at Graton Resort & Casino, Napa construction site lead to arrest of two Bay Area men (mercurynews.com) — Napa police and county prosecutors are pursuing charges against two men accused of stealing large amounts of copper from a Napa construction site and other North Bay locations. The case, now in Napa County Superior Court, involves more than $140,000 in alleged thefts, with upcoming preliminary hearings that could impact local builders, contractors, and neighborhood security concerns.
4. Spirit Halloween and AutoZone lease Napa retail spaces (napavalleyregister.com) — Several familiar storefronts around Napa are getting new life, with Spirit Halloween opening downtown on Main Street and AutoZone, a new dental office, and Harbor Freight all moving into the south Napa Riverpark Shopping Center. The changes bring fresh shopping options, tenant improvements, and an estimated 10 to 15 new jobs at Harbor Freight alone.
5. Napa County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce hosts small business 'cosecha' (napavalleyregister.com) — Local entrepreneurs can sign up now for a half-day "Small Biz Cosecha" seminar on Sept. 17 at Redwood Credit Union on Devlin Road in Napa, focused on marketing, financing and long-term planning. Sessions cover AI and digital marketing, business loans and SBA programs, and retirement and succession strategies, with Q&A, networking, and coffee and pastries included.
