1. Delta Uncorks New Route From Wine Country (patch.com) — Napa Valley visitors now have an easier way to reach Wine Country and bring bottles home, thanks to Delta's new Sonoma County–Salt Lake City route with free checked wine. Local business leaders say the added air service, curbside wine check-in, and broad connections through Salt Lake City will boost tourism and winery traffic across Napa and neighboring counties.
2. Earthquake measuring 2.4 struck area close to Napa, CA on Oct. 6 (sacbee.com) — A small 2.4 magnitude earthquake struck about four miles southeast of Napa late Tuesday morning, giving the area a light shake but no reported damage. Residents are reminded how to protect themselves during future quakes and encouraged to submit a USGS Felt Report if they noticed Tuesday's tremor or any aftershocks.
3. Napa Latino leaders discuss rewards, challenges at roundtable (napavalleyregister.com) — Local Latino leaders gathered in south Napa to share how they overcame discrimination and barriers to win office and encourage more Latino civic participation. With Latinos making up over 30% of Napa's population, the roundtable and new El Camino Leadership Program aim to build a pipeline of local Latino candidates, mentors, and advocates ahead of upcoming elections.
4. Dudes Who Care: Napa dads, cops, a chef and more show up for Mayacamas students (napavalleyregister.com) — Mayacamas Countywide Middle School in Napa welcomed more than 30 local men—dads, police officers, a chef and others—for a "Dudes Who Care" morning focused on encouragement and role modeling. Students played games, chatted over doughnuts, and met community members, while organizers hoped the turnout would inspire more fathers and male mentors to stay involved in Napa schools.
5. Flag football: Windsor wins 10th game in row; Rancho Cotate stays hot (pressdemocrat.com) — Napa High's flag football team shut out American Canyon 12–0 and now sits at 2–7 in VVAL play and 3–10 overall, as league races tighten. The roundup also tracks key wins by Windsor, Rancho Cotate, and Cardinal Newman, plus updated standings that show where Napa and its rivals stand heading into the next slate of games.
