Assault On Vine Bike Trail: Napa Police Seek Witnesses, Victims
A Napa teen was arrested in connection with an assault on the trail, police said.

NAPA, CA — A 15-year-old Napa boy is accused of assaulting a bicyclist on the Vine Bike Trail, and Napa police are seeking witnesses or other victims.
Police said the incident happened Jan. 25 on the Vine Trail in the area of Solano Avenue and Haven Way in Napa.
The suspect was riding his bicycle northbound on the trail and was in the company of five other teenagers.

The victim was riding his bicycle southbound on the trail and as he approached the teens he moved over as far as he could to avoid them, police said.
The suspect struck the victim, causing the victim to lose control of his bicycle and fall to the ground, police said. As a result, the victim suffered a serious injury to his hand.

Investigators were able to identify the suspect and group of teens, and on Thursday, the 15-year-old suspect was arrested.
The boy — his name was not disclosed because of his age — was booked into Napa County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of assault and battery with serious bodily injury, police said in a news release.
The Napa Police Department was still looking Thursday for other potential victims or witnesses who with information about the Jan. 25 incident or any similar incidents on the bike trail.
