Chefs Bring Live-Fire Feast To Napa Valley

NAPA VALLEY, CA - Napa Valley chefs will put their best bites to a public vote Sunday as Heritage Fire takes over Charles Krug Winery for an afternoon of open-flame cooking, local ingredients, wine, and culinary competition.

The 21-and-older event combines a walk-around feast with a competition that lets guests decide which chef earns the title of Heritage Hero.

Organizers expect more than 800 guests to sample dishes prepared by participating chefs using products from local farms and event sponsors before voting for their favorite bite.

The event is part of Heritage Fire, a touring food festival that brings restaurants, chefs, and food lovers together around live-fire cooking.

The series is an all-inclusive feast built around food cooked over open flames, craft beverages, and competition.

The competition adds stakes beyond Sunday’s bragging rights.

Guests will vote for their favorite dish, and the chef who receives the most votes will become Napa’s Heritage Hero.

Winners from Heritage Fire and Whiskey & Fire tour stops around the country will advance to the Heritage Hero Grand Finale in Greenville, South Carolina, where 12 chefs will compete for the Heritage Hero Grand Champion title.

Heritage Fire’s broader 2026 tour also intersects with Whiskey & Fire, a four-city collaboration between Heritage Fire and Whiskies of the World.

Those events combine live-fire dishes from local chefs and pitmasters with whiskey tastings and give guests another opportunity to select chefs for the national finale.

Heritage Fire Napa runs from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at Charles Krug Winery, 2800 Main St. in St. Helena.
