Band Together Bay Area Concert Lineup, Livestream Announced

BREAKING: Here's how and where to watch the North Bay fire relief concert featuring Metallica online — plus ways viewers can donate.

SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA, CA — Organizers of the Band Together Bay Area concert — a benefit event for the many thousands affected by the October North Bay wildfires in Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino and neighboring Northern California counties — have announced that those not able to attend in person will be able to watch the event in its entirety because it will be livesteamed online. The concert Thursday evening, Nov. 9 at AT&T Park, home of the San Francisco Giants, features a lineup including Metallica, Dead & Company, Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds, G-Eazy, Rancid and Raphael Saadiq.

The five-hour show will recognize first responders and local heroes, honoring the more than 40 victims who lost their lives in the firestorm. The event —and livestream — is set to begin at 5:45 p.m. with an interfaith blessing from members of the San Francisco Interfaith Council, followed by a video tribute to the resilience and strength of the North Bay communities impacted by the firestorm.

The best seats in the house Thursday evening will be donated to first responders, volunteers and families impacted by the firestorm for an evening of solidarity, respite and hope.

How To Watch Band Together Bay Area Concert Online

The concert will be livestreamed on YouTube and Twitter; viewers can access the five-hour show worldwide starting at 5:45 p.m. Pacific Time/8:45 p.m. Eastern Time on The Metallica YouTube channel or via Live.twitter.com/bandtogetherbayarea (available to Twitter's logged-in and logged-out audience on Twitter and connected devices to fans in the U. S. on Twitter via @tippingpoint and @sfgiants.)

How To Make A Donation

One-hundred percent of ticket sales from the concert will go to an emergency relief fund established by Tipping Point Community, which will direct funds to North Bay community foundations, service providers and government partners supporting the low-income communities hit hardest by the fires.

Livestream viewers can donate through YouTube on the night of the show, and by texting TOGETHER to 20222 until Jan. 1, 2018. The text to give option makes a $25 donation and standard messaging rates apply. Organizers say 100 percent of text donations will be given to the Tipping Point Emergency Relief Fund thanks to underwriting by Twilio. As a founding sponsor of the concert, Google will also match any donations made through the YouTube livestream and text to give up to $1 million until Jan. 1, 2018.

"We are focused on supporting the local relief and long-term recovery in the region," organizers said.
