BarbersQ Gets New Name, Chef and Rave Review

The San Francisco Chronicle's restaurant reviewer, Michael Bauer, has given a three-star ("excellent") review to the newly-renamed Q Restaurant, formerly BarbersQ, in north Napa's Bel Aire Plaza.

Congratulations to the staff and management of the north Napa restaurant we've long known and loved as BarbersQ, which just scored a three-star ("excellent") review from the San Francisco Chronicle's restaurant critic, Michael Bauer.

Apparently the departure last year of founding chef Stephen Barber for Farmstead hasn't done lasting harm to either the food or the service at "the Q," which Bauer reports is in the process of changing its name to Q Restaurant & Bar.

In "Napa's Q Restaurant thrives under new chef," Bauer calls recently-hired chef Randy Lewis "one of the best chefs in the Bay Area" and praises dishes including conch fritters, vinegar chicken and fried chicken.

Bauer's review is the latest shot in the arm for Bel Aire Plaza, which is in the process of adding new, upscale tenants like Pier One and Chico's.
